28th IAPS Juried Exhibition at the Salmagundi Club

IAPS serves as the umbrella organization for all pastel societies and their members from around the world. As a result, this show features the work of many of the best pastel artists working in the
medium today. Only 140 amazing pieces of work will be selected from the nearly 1000 entries received.

Gallery hours are 1 – 6 pm Monday – Friday; 1 – 5 pm Saturday & Sunday. Thursdays until 8 pm.

Thursday, June 9, 6-8 pm: Awards Reception and Ceremony (Awards ceremony at 7pm.)
Open to the public at no charge.

Friday, June 10: Demo by Master Pastelist Richard McKinley
Admission: $20 advance tickets (online), $25 at the door (space permitting)

Richard McKinley has been an artist and teacher for more than 40 years. His command of the medium has garnered him countless awards and recognitions. He is best known for his exceptional plein air landscapes. His work is represented by several national galleries and is in the permanent collection of the Butler Institute of American Art.

Saturday, June 11: Gallery Walk-Through with Richard McKinley
2 pm – Open to the public at no charge.

Sunday, June 12: Brunch & Demo
Brunch 11am – 2 pm $35 + tax (reservations recommended, 212.255.7740)
Demo at 2 pm by Rae Smith, Master Pastelist and PSA (Pastel Society of America) Hall
of Fame Honoree.  Demo is open to the public at no charge (space permitting.)

Jurors for the show include Anne Hevener, Editor of the Pastel Journal, Chris Ivers, Artist and Instructor, and Richard McKinley. Jimmy Wright, President of the Pastel Society of America, is the Judge of Awards and recently commented regarding the show, “I am honored to be a part of the awards judging of this great cross section of contemporary soft pastels being made by artists across the world.”
