Salmagundi Art Club of New York

"Getting to Know Your Library", SCNY Members' Presentation
Library, October 04, 2016

Tuesday, 7PM
SCNY Members Only
Preceeding the 8PM Meeting.

Historically artists have not only sought inspiration from works displayed in museums but in art reference books as well. Your Club Library at Salmagundi posseses a wealth of these books; visual inspiration for artists and patrons, alike. Among the many jewels are interesting and unique books dating back at least 100 years covering a vast range of topics including books on costumes, architecture, myths, history, and even chess.

Take a step back in time, learn the mysteries of your library, be inspired by the visual imagery of the room itself, and enter the world of beautiful books.

The Salmagundi Library Committee chaired by Barbara Genco is sponsoring this “Getting to Know Your Library” presentation, to be held the same evening as the members’ meeting on Tuesday, October 4th, from 7PM until 8PM (Members' Meeting @ 8PM). Salmagundian John Morehouse will be on hand to share with us his knowledge and insight into the content and history of the library.

The intention of your Library Committee is to give members familiarity with all that the library offers, one of the Club's most under-rated benefits. Please join us for this exciting “Getting to Know Your Library” event.

Remember, the Dining Room opens at 5:30. For reservations, call 212.255.7740.
