Portraits, Inc. Exhibition
Parlor, November 13, 2014 - November 20, 2014

Portraits Inc., the nation’s leading source for contemporary portraits, will be presenting an exhibition and symposium exploring contemporary portraiture at the Salmagundi Club from November 12th -20th.   An opening reception will be held on Friday, Nov. 14th from 6:00PM  – 8:00PM.  The exhibition will feature master practitioners Daniel Greene, Raymond Everett Kinstler, and John Howard Sanden along with works by emerging artists affiliated with Portraits Inc.  The exhibition closes on Nov. 20th with a roundtable discussion on portraiture and figurative painting with the editor of Fine Art Connoisseur magazine Peter Trippi, the dean of the New York Academy of Art, Peter Drake and accomplished painters Burton Silverman, Sharon Sprung, and Patricia Watwood.  

This event has been curated in consultation with Michael Gormley, a longstanding critical voice for the realist movement. Gormley is an artist and writer based in New York City. He is former editor of American Artist magazine and dean emeritus of the New York Academy of Art.

A finissage on Thurs. Nov. 20th  from 6 -8 pm will include a panel discussion on portraiture and its relationship to figurative representation in contemporary art. Panelist include artists Burt Silverman, Patricia Watwood, Sharon Sprung, Peter Drake and editor of Art Connoisseur Magazine Peter Trippi.
