“I Dream of Peace”, Lecture by VA NYHHS Creative Arts Therapist, Beryl Brenner
Parlor, December 17, 2017
Please join VA NYHHS Creative Arts Therapist, Beryl Brenner, for a lecture/ discussion about the art program that she developed for the local Veterans of New York City. Ms. Brenner has been working with Veterans and the arts for 39 years and the work that has been produced is reflective of the Veterans of our time. The work has been shown at a wide variety of galleries and museums in the area. Recently, the entire collection was inducted digitally into the Brooklyn Collection at Grand Army Plaza rendering it a permanent part of American history. Ms. Brenner will be joined by a number of the Veterans who produce the artwork for the program and they will discuss their process.
In addition to the lecture/discussion there will be a fused glass art work collection of recent works entitled “I Dream of Peace”. Veterans will present their visualizations of what Peace looks like to them. In deference to America’s foremost original glass artist and Salmagundi Club member Louis Comfort Tiffany these works will showcase works made of exquisite Bullseye Glass supplied by Michele Gotfredson from Bullseye’s Mamaroneck Resource Center.
Come ring in the holiday season with a focus on peace brought to you by the people who can really understand exactly what it means.
