Salmagundi Art Club of New York

SCNY "Works on Paper" Paper Exhibition & Sale
Lower Gallery, March 16, 2015 - March 27, 2015

Almost all art starts with a piece of paper.

Sometimes it is as simple as a line sketch or a few words on a scrap that hold the intent, that fragile wisp of an idea that has struck the artist’s imagination.  Some drawings stay right there and go no further.  Others blossom into ever more complex stages.  They range from pencil to ink to paint to collage and much more.  The media accepts all comers.  It is worth noting that the Salmagundi Club started in 1871 as the Salmagundi Sketch Club.  The exhibit celebrates that unbroken line.

An Exhibition & Sale of UnFramed Art.
