The Paris Seminar: Exhibitions, Lectures, & Demonstration
Patrons' Gallery, April 28, 2016 - May 01, 2016
Exhibition runs April 28-May 1. Gallery Hours: Mon-Fri 1-6 PM, Sat & Sun 1-5 PM
Following in the footsteps of many great American painters before them, a group of 15 young realist artists will travel to Paris in early fall 2016. They will copy in museums, learn from curators and educators in the field, and paint together as they study group composition and humanities, with the goal of reaching the next level of mastery in their work. There is a need for this voyage. It has been noted that there is a lack of training for advanced figure composition in American art schools and ateliers. This has left a gap at the top layer of learning for American artists, perhaps causing them to shy away from creating large scale multi-figural works. The Paris Seminar is intended address this. To raise the necessary funds the Paris Seminar will be holding two fine art exhibitions, one at the Salmagundi Club in New York City April 28th, and the other at the Laguna College of Art and Design Gallery in Laguna Beach April 8th, 2016. At these events the revered group of Paris Seminar artists will offer their new work, created especially for these exhibitions, for sale individually which will help them pay for their voyage in the Fall.
On view in this unique exhibition will be works from 15 famed American Artists: Jeremy Lipking, Adrien Gottlieb, Kate Sammons, Ryan S Brown,Michael Klein, Michelle Dunaway, Aaron Westerberg, Iliya Mirochnik, Richard Greathouse, Judson Monroe, Hope Railey, Andrew Ameral, Alan Lawson, Sean Forester and Vanessa Rothe.
