Salmagundi is hosting a lecture by Debbie Wells to understand what is needed to “brand” yourself as an artist and promote your artwork in today’s market.
The evening will give general information on how to:
- Craft a consistent professional identity
- Establish your on-line presence on the internet, including social media.
- Publicize your activities to the media through writing your own press releases

About the Speaker:
Wells, co-founder of Artful Circle with Franklin Hill Perrell, former Chief Curator of the Nassau County Museum of Art, is an award-winning graphic designer and communications specialist. Artful Circle (www.artfulcircle.com) specializes in providing top quality art tours and lectures. Debbie Wells is a Salmagundi Club Resident Artist Member and a graduate of Parsons New School for Design (BFA in Communication Design, ‘84 and MA in Media Studies ’90). She is also recently was elected the Chair of the Board of Directors at the Art League of Long Island. “Through my experiences in the corporate and art worlds, I have learned what it takes to create a successful “brand” and have gotten countless articles, listings and photographs printed in publications in the New York metropolitan area, including Newsday and the New York Times.”
