Upper Gallery
An extensive show of high quality artwork by our artist members, from nationally-reknowned to emerging artists, to be auctioned for the benefit of the Salmagundi. From landscapes to still lifes to figurative works, in all media including sculpture, photography, printmaking, painting, there is going to be something to please everyone.
Theme Show: "Those Delectable Vices"

Lower Gallery
Artwork which represents life's many tempting vices created by Club artist members. If it can be imagined, it will be depicted (pornography excluded!).

Valenti will display watercolor paintings which exemplify some of the various methods and techniques that he will cover in his Oct 10 & 11 workshop.

Ginsburg will exhibit oil paintings, figure compositions concerned with realism of form and content, as well as head studies in oil, as examples of what he will teach in the Oct 24 & 25 workshop. |
Fall Auctions 2009 |

Our semi-annual, fundraising auctions are an opportunity for novice and experienced collectors to buy high quality fine art at affordable prices. A portion of sales benefit the Salmagundi, enabling it to offer art exhibitions and a variety of events to the public. Bids start at $150 for photography and multi-print graphics, $250 for sculpture (except cast metal/bronze), $300 for paintings, and $400 for for cast metal and bronze sculpture. This is an important fundraising event for the Club - spread the word and show your support!

ARTISTS OF THE GREEN BAIZE, October 6, 6:00 pm: Billiards on the first Tuesday of each month. Everyone is invited; bring a friend. Those who want a lesson on how to play will be accommodated (by Mike Stap). Hang out, chat with friends new and old, and enjoy an adult beverage. Enjoy your second drink for 1/2 price.

Seeking Donations for November 5, Gallery Renovation Fundraising Gala Event. This event, cocktail party with silent auction, aims to raise money for the major renovation of the Upper Gallery. We are looking for high quality and desirable donation items for the auction (e.g. use of a weekend house, tickets to a Broadway show, gift certificate from a frame shop). Oct 7, Wed, 5:30 pm, "Acrylic paints, gels and mediums." Lecture and demonstration by Roy Kinzer of Golden Artist Colors. There will be free literature and paint samples available. Sponsored by NAWA.

Oct 24, Sat, 6:30 - 9:30 pm, "Portrait in Oil" Demonstration by Max Ginsburg. ($25; free for his workshop attendees) Ginsburg will demonstrate how to see the unique abstract forms on the model and how to develop form to create depth and solidity. |

Event Rental: The Club is an ideal venue for your next event, party or meeting. Nearly all of the public galleries and rooms are available for rental with the option of on-site catering.
Gallery Rental: Weekly rentals for art exhibitions are available for the Main Gallery, Billiard Room (aka Lower Gallery), the Library, and the Patrons' Gallery, a lovely, newly renovated space on the second floor.
