Basil Baylin

Basil Baylin studied at National Academy of Design, Arts Students League, and with noted artist S. Edmond Oppenheim. Works by Mr. Basil Baylin are represented in the collections of: Former Governor Cahill of New Jersey, Bishop Dougherty, President of Seaton Hall University Bob Grant and Alan Burke, Talk Show Hosts, The Forbes Family Collection

Commissions include a portrait of the Honorable Irad Ingraham, the New York State Supreme Court Justice. He has also painted portraits of Cardinal O'Connor for the New York Diocese and the Portrait of Pope Benedict 16 for the Vatican. Among Mr. Basil Baylin's commissions is the portrait of Miklos Rozsa, Concert and Oscar Winning Film Composer, who praised his work as "a lovely portrait, astonishingly good". Basil Baylin has received numerous awards from The Allied Artist of America, The Hudson Valley Art Association as well various other institutions and currently enjoys being a Salmagundi Artist Juror.
