Douglas Edwards Douglas Edwards

Douglas Edwards was born in England and is now a naturalized American citizen. He studied at Chester School of Art and, graduating with diplomas in advertising design and fine art, emigrated to the United States where he continued his studies at the esteemed Corcoran School of Art in Washington, DC. He has had a distinguished career in America, first as an advertising artist, art director, illustrator and subsequently fine artist. His portrait of the martyred President Abraham Lincoln hangs in Ford's Theatre, Washington, DC, and the United States Congress-designated National Churchill Museum acquired his painting of Sir Winston Churchill.

His work has been displayed in New York City, London, the Air & Space Museum in Washington, DC, and in Virginia. He is interested in all things American - particularly the Civil War - which has led him to create work often related to that dark period in American history.
