John Michael Pelech

Throughout his career, John Michael Pelech has been on the cutting edge of television and video art. Photographing since (1962) he now focuses on personal fine art photography. Receiving a BS from NYU (1973) and a BFA from School of Visual Arts (1979), studying with Milton Glaser, Bob Gill and Jonathan Borofsky, among others. Professionally executed animations for The Electric Company and Sesame Street (1973). Director of Photography for commercials and industrial projects, awards for both camera work and lighting, camera operator on MTV (1981-1984). Worked with avant garde artists: Nam June Paik, Laurie Anderson and Peter Gabriel. Appeared in American Cinematographer Magazine and industry publications. Self-published books on photography. Management at CBS News (1991-2017): Evening News and 60 Minutes. Emmy award winning team for the live coverage of the Boston Marathon Bombings (2013).
