"I enjoy the freedom of aesthetic versatility with my work ranging from emotive narratives of the human condition to the nuanced beauty and textures I find in everyday life to visual metaphors I create with nature- inspired design elements. I work primarily in graphite and ink." Maxine Nodel is a Cooper Union alumnus and the recipient of numerous Best in Show awards for drawing and painting. After being Artist of the Month at the Edward Hopper House, she was invited to give a public art talk there about her design-based drawings. Maxine sells her work nationally and internationally and exhibits in venues that include outdoor and indoor public installations. Maxine is a member of the National Art League of Long Island where she teaches drawing. She is also the founder of an innovative, award-winning art high school in NYC that she created with a Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation grant
