Megan Lawlor

Megan Lawlor, Non-Resident Artist Member

Megan is an American artist who grew up at the shore in Manasquan, NJ. She feels extremely fortunate to have been enrolled by her father, at a very young age, in her first formal painting class with renowned landscape artist, Ted Goerschner, N.A. (1933-2012). Ted emphasized the need to paint from life and that an artist must know how to draw, or their painting will not be believable.

Megan studied Fashion Illustration at Moore College of Art in Philadelphia and continued her formal training at Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts. Her award winning portrait and landscape work has been widely exhibited in galleries nationwide and is in private collections in the USA and abroad.

When not working in her studio, Megan frequents her hometown of Manasquan, painting marine subjects, beachscapes and seascapes, outdoors. She teaches drawing and painting and is represented at Main Street Gallery, in Manasquan, NJ.
