Andrei Kushnir's landscape paintings reflect his love of the outdoors. He is known as a "New Naturalist" and paints directly from nature, which inspires him to capture the poetic feeling of a place.   He has painted in oils since 1980, and his works have been accepted in national gallery shows juried by curators from the National Gallery of Art, National Museum of American Art, Hirshhorn Museum, and Corcoran Gallery.  

He has been a finalist in the Arts for the Parks Competitions held by the National Park Academy of Arts/National Park Foundation, and his paintings were competitively selected for purchase by the District of Columbia Commission of Arts and Humanities. His paintings were also selected for exhibit at the National Oil and Acrylic Painters' Society (NOAPS), MO; Oil Painters of America Regional Exhibit, Richmond, VA; Museum of Florida's Art & Culture, Sebring FL; Salmagundi Club, NYC; the Holter Museum of Art, Helena MT. He was the first living artist accorded a solo exhibition by the Virginia Historical Society, Richmond, VA. The catalogue for the exhibit, "Painted History," is available through Amazon.com and other booksellers. His biography is included in Marquis Who's Who in America, he is an elected member of the Salmagundi Club and the Washington Society of Landscape Painters, a signature member of NOAPS and a member of Oil Painters of America.
